Welcoming and Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in New York
Back to HomepageThe population of Indian migrants in New York is high and this is why there are plenty of temples and cultural societies that encourage developing cultural values in the community. The Ganpati Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi is celebrated in as much with the same enthusiasm as in India.
Only thing is that there are no pandals constructed in the localities. Rather in community halls, decorations are done and in temples, regular puja is done for ten days celebrating the occasion. The Hindu Mandir of Central New York is a hub during the festivities. So is the Hindu Cultural Society in West New York.
